The First Annual “Hirtes Hike”, conducted by the Toms River North Boys’ Lacrosse team is
a fun and fit activity for all ages. Students and Adults set their own realistic “Tower” lap
goals. You can walk, jog or run, take as much time as you like. It’s up to you. All proceeds
for this event will go directly to the Hirtes family.

Sirius Sports is now celebrating its 8th anniversary.
 
During the last 7 years I have met so many people. I have met some of the nicest people I would not have met otherwise. As a small local sporting goods store I have developed several relationships with those who have become loyal to Sirius Sports. I've watched the children grow up to become young adults and I've watched their parents trying not to become old adults. I am thrilled that Sirius Sports played a small part in some of the children's greatest memories. Getting their first home run with the awesome bat they wanted or scoring their first goal with the newest lacrosse head that their friends told them that they had to have.
 
Creating great memories is what it is all about. While winning is great, it is more important to have fun. Unless you know how long you will be here on earth you should enjoy each day as if it were your last.
 
Over the last several years some of  our customers have passed away. Each time it had a depressing effect in our store. I remember each one endearingly. I have had so many conversations with each one of them. They were all such proud parents that raised great children.
 
Recently, God has taken a great mom to be in heaven. On January 6, 2010 Maureen Hirtes passed away. Every time she came into the store she was either holding a baby in her arms or had one on the way. The store had a special glow when she was there. I loved talking to her. Maureen & her husband Michael have 11 children. Although the Hirtes family has never asked for help I would like to donate a portion of each lacrosse sale made from now till May 1, 2010.
 
If you or anyone you know are considering buying lacrosse gear for this upcoming season it would be great if you consider using Sirius Sports. For every $50.00 you spend Sirius Sports will donate $5.00. I hope that this will help the Hirtes family in some small way.
 
I hope that this upcoming year is a fun & healthy year for each and every one of our customers.
